Description

Frankenstein (Universal, R-1947). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Even though from the 1947 reissue of Universal Studio's quintessential monster show, the one sheet offered here is very desirable due in part to the scarcity of original material from the film. Its popularity is also due to the fact that the first reissue from the late thirties was done in a duotone. After this release, Universal turned its horror properties over to Realart for reissue. Boris Karloff glowers over Colin Clive and Mae Clarke in garish color on this highly presentable poster, which shows only pinholes in the borders, small tears at edge, crossfold separation with slight paper loss and tape on the verso, an extra fold at the center, and creases in the corners. Despite these minor flaws, the poster remains one of the best in the Universal pantheon of classic images. Fine+.

If my clients were to auction something of significance, having Mike as the auctioneer would be a deal maker as far as I am concerned.
