Description
Frankenstein (Universal, 1931). Swedish One Sheet (27.5" X 39.5"). Of all the original International posters designed for "Frankenstein," this may be the most original with the Doctor (or is it his Monster) out for a casual evening of grave-robbing. None of the film's principal players, Colin Clive, John Boles, Mae Clarke or even the great Boris Karloff, are given any screen credit here - it's just the outstanding art deco graphics selling Mary Shelley Wollstonecraft's story to the public. This original release, rolled Swedish one sheet has minor corner chips on the upper and lower left, what appear to be red pencil marks in the upper left corner, and a couple of edge tears: one is a small tear, and the other is longer and extends into the image area. The poster has been mounted on linen and professionally restored, leaving it with a very clean appearance. This poster is incredibly rare and we've never seen another copy! Rolled, Fine/Very Fine on Linen.Heritage Auctions provides as much information as possible but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
