    Description

    Frankenstein (Universal, 1931). Exhibitor Promotional (4.5" X 5.5").
James Whale's film adaptation of Mary Shelley's chilling work is one of the greatest and most recognized achievements in the history of cinema. From the makers of the horror classic comes this unique exhibitor promotional item, never before offered by Heritage. Encased within a tidy flocked finish paper envelope, with a stitch design on the front and film credits and printed information on the inside, are twelve magnificent glossy, black and white, small photos. The title photo features portrait images of Boris Karloff, Colin Clive, Mae Clarke, John Boles, Dwight Frye, Edward Van Sloan, and Frederic Kerr. The others showcase images from the film, including iconic scenes such as Dr. Frankenstein in his laboratory, Elisabeth draped over her bed, Dr. Frankenstein face to face with his creation, and the wonderful portrait of Boris Karloff as the monster. Each photo also contains a caption in the lower border describing the scene. There is a slight separation in the left and right folds of the envelope, and a spot in the lower area of the title photo. The cost to produce these items must have been significant in 1931 and we suggest there were probably very few of these made. This is a rare opportunity to own this complete and truly special item, not to be missed by serious collectors. Very Fine-.
