    Description
Frankenstein (Realart, R-1951). Rolled, Very Fine-. Insert (14" X 36").Starring Boris Karloff, Colin Clive, Mae Clarke, John Boles, Dwight Frye, Edward Van Sloan. Directed by James Whale. An unrestored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. The film stands as a quintessential piece of classic cinema, renowned for its timeless exploration of the human condition and its consequences. Directed by James Whale, the film is a masterful adaptation of Mary Shelley's iconic, invoking a palpable sense of horror and empathy. At the crux of this masterpiece is Boris Karloff's seminal portrayal of the Creature, a harrowing embodiment of both man's ambition and the inherent struggle for identity, and is perfectly centered and leering toward theatre patrons on this highly sought-after and unrestored insert. There is a small crease to the top right corner, small crease in the border at bottom left, a small circular tear in the right border braced with a short strip of paper tape on the verso, a couple tiny tears in the right border in the lower area, a tiny tear in the bottom border at left, some soft creases, a small paper remnant on the verso of the bottom left corner and a strip of masking tape on the verso near bottom right. "It's alive, it's alive!" From the Larry K. Springer Collection
