    Description

Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (Universal, 1943). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41"). Karl Godwin Artwork.
A trendsetter at Universal studios, Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man kicked off a series of crossover "ensemble" films that brought some of the screen's most memorable monsters together in new terrifying tales until the end of the franchise in 1948. Lon Chaney Jr. returns for his second appearance as Wolf Man Lawrence Talbot, and for the first and only time, the great Bela Lugosi finally dons the role of Frankenstein's Monster to much studio fanfare. It's no wonder that the dynamic battle between beasts has become a favorite image among horror fans, it's striking lines and ghoulish colors a perfect taste of action anticipated by eager audiences. Restoration has been applied to fold wear and separation, small chips, and a few tears. Unaddressed issues include pinholes, a very minor chip in the left border, a vertical scratch from the lower border into Maria Ouspenskaya's credit, as well as two thin surface indentations extending from the upper border into the images of the Monster and the Wolf Man.
