Frankenstein Created Woman (20th Century Fox, 1967). Original Gouache French Poster Artwork on Illustration Board (19.5" X 25.5").
It wasn't quite The Bride of Frankenstein, nor was it based on Mary Shelley's idea of creating a mate for the monster, but it did feature a dead man's brain being transplanted into the body of his dead girlfriend, after which, Dr. Frankenstein brings her back to life. When the woman is revived, she regains her (his) memories and takes revenge on the men who killer her (him). Peter Cushing returns as the evil Dr. Frankenstein in one of his best performances. All of the poster campaigns for the movie are similar, featuring a large portrait of Cushing and the full length image of Susan Denberg. While the artist is unknown, the painting offered here was strictly used for the French grande format poster. A similar, but different color palette painting was used for the smaller French posters. The painting shows foxing and faint staining in the borders, but not in the interior. And while there is some smudging, a small tape stain, and a light paper lift from the artistic process, these minor defects do not detract from this classic image from one of the best Hammer Horror films. Very Fine- on Illustration Board.
