    Dracula (Universal, 1979). One Sheet (27" X 41") and Photos (4) (8" X 10"). Flat Folded Advance Style. Horror.
This is the essential companion piece to the regular Style B poster on this title. This advance poster had the center chest area on the original photograph airbrushed out, and the inclusion of the tagline "A Love Story" beneath the title. As the time of actual release neared, feedback from the public and theatre owners insisted that both of these elements were too "racy" for display in the theatre, especially in context with a prone Kate Nelligan with lips parted in ecstasy! So, when the Style B regular poster was sent to theatres, the chest area now had a lace overlay drawn on by an artist, and the "love story" tagline removed completely! This advance poster was withdrawn and has always been in very short supply, particularly in this high a grade. Also included in this lot are four, vintage, single weight, glossy photos from this title. Starring Frank Langella, Laurence Olivier, Donald Pleasence, Kate Nelligan, Trevor Eve, Jan Francis, Janine Duvitski, Tony Haygarth, Teddy Turner. Directed by John Badham. An unused, unrestored poster and photos that might have one very minor flaw, such as a slight corner crease, or surface crinkle. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. The poster is Flat Folded, and has no vertical folds. Near Mint/Mint.
