Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (MGM, 1941). Insert (14" X 36").
Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story about the darker side of man's nature (and a potion that brings it out) has been filmed many times over the years and apparently it was a challenging role for highly gifted actors. John Barrymore and Fredric March were both up to the challenge (March won an Oscar for his performance) and so was Spencer Tracy who was at the peak of his career when he took on the role. Tracy felt the part did not call for makeup to make the transformation from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde (like the March version did) but relied upon the talents of the actor instead. Co-starring in the film were Ingrid Bergman and Lana Turner. All three stars are featured on this insert, which shows tape stains in the left and bottom border, a tear in Tracy's shoulder, touch-up to the folds, extra creasing, smudging in the bottom border, and a bottom left corner chip. There are two tears in the top border, a small gouge at the bottom center and in the image area, all with tape on the verso. Folded, Fine.
