Description

Creature from the Black Lagoon (Universal International, 1954). One Sheet (27" X 41") Albert Kallis Artwork.
An icon in the realm of cinematic horror, Jack Arnold's Gill-Man stands tall among some of the most popular monsters in Universal's impressive repertoire, considered an equal to such longtime favorites as Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Wolf Man. Received with widespread praise, this dark tale of an Amazonian expedition-turned-horrific has thrilled viewers for decades since its initial release and is the reigning king of 1950s creature features. The one sheet leaves just as spectacular an impression 63 years later as the film did to original theatre audiences, its excellent Albert Kallis artwork an instantly recognizable image synonymous with the horror genre. An absolute must-have for fans of the darker side of cinema and 50's classics, no serious collector could have a complete collection without this gem of a poster. There has been skillful restoration to correct pinholes in the background, chips in the borders, and touchup applied to tears and small chips in the folds. The borders have been airbrushed and the color has been enhanced to address color fading. Fine- on Linen.
