    Description

Creature from the Black Lagoon (Universal International, 1954). Fine+ on Linen. Six Sheet (81" X 79.5"). Reynold Brown Artwork.
This horror classic is one of the finest from the era and was an immediate sensation, spawning two top sequels. Richard Carlson, Julia Adams, Richard Denning, and Whit Bissell star as a group of paleontologists who travel to the Amazon and find the famed Black Lagoon and its most unusual inhabitant. The Gil-man was played by Ben Chapman and Ricou Browning. This thrilling poster features Reynold Brown's superb artwork of the Creature, Carlson, and the lovely Adams. A sight not often seen at auction, the poster has partial touchup applied to the folds, as well as pinholes, tears, and small chips. Some of these issues are still visible, as well as creases and faint staining in the borders. The masa paper has begun to tear and separate from the linen, with a few tears extending into the poster. In its totality, however, this large format piece puts forth an impressive presentation that fans would be lucky to own.
