    Description

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (Universal International, 1948). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. Six Sheet (80.75" X 78.75").
A first-time offer from Heritage, this rare six sheet presents an extra-large image from Universal's first entry into its innovative comedy/horror genre. The film brought together not only the talents of their reigning funnymen, Abbott and Costello, but also some of their most popular monsters and horror actors to ever hit the screen. Splicing together the terrifying trio of Glenn Strange's role of Frankenstein's Monster, Lon Chaney Jr. as the Wolf Man, and Bela Lugosi's reprisal as the dreaded Count Dracula, this film managed to give audiences some good shivers up their spines in between Abbott and Costello's guffaw-inducing gags. Professional touchup has been applied to the folds, a 10" tear in the lower right credits, and a chip with a splice in the upper right border. Also touched up were paper lifts and a surface scratch in the upper right quadrant just above the farm house in the background. Unaddressed wear includes creases, tears, minor paper lifts, and unobtrusive staining in the border.
