    Description

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (Universal International, 1948). Fine+. Silk Screen Poster (30" X 40") Style Z.
Comedy team Bud Abbot and Lou Costello made this widely successful comeback film after their careers floundered in the post-war years. The moneymaker featured some of Universal Studios' biggest horror stars reprising their most famous roles, with Lon Chaney Jr. as the Wolf Man, Glenn Strange as Frankenstein's Monster, and Bela Lugosi in his signature role of Count Dracula. Lugosi only played the Count in feature films twice--here and the original Dracula. This vehicle would lead A&C into twelve more films, many starring the Universal monsters. This is the first time Heritage has offered the film's vibrant style Z poster, which has been professionally restored to addressed edge wear, creasing, small tears, and pinholes. There were a few tears that extended into the background, as well as a vertical tear from the bottom border extending to the "and" of the title. At one point, the poster had a horizontal fold, which has received touchup. Also addressed was some surface wear in the interior, and the borders have been airbrushed. There are some linen tape remnants on the verso in the upper border. Fine+.
