A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (New Line, 1986). Very Fine. 3D Vacuum Formed Plastic Video Store Display (15" X 18"). Horror.
Starring Mark Patton , Robert Englund , Kim Myers , Robert Rusler , Clu Gulager , Hope Lange. Directed by Jack Sholder. Constructed of vacuumed formed plastic, this gruesomely textured plaque/poster was designed to slide into special lightboxes available to video stores. We have encountered similar 3d plaque/posters for other films of the era. The piece itself is opaque, and can be readily enjoyed as it is, with or without back-lighting. Freddy snarls and brandishes his trademark claws in this head-and-shoulders portrait from the second installment in the groundbreaking horror franchise, celebrated for the subversive inclusion of queer themes by the filmmakers. There are pinholes in three corners, minor tape residue at top right, and some light smudging.
