    Description

Horror of Dracula (Universal International, 1958). French Grande (47.25" X 63.5") Guy Gerard Noël Artwork.
A pillar of the classic horror genre, this film inspired fantastic poster design, including this French grande graced with the artwork of Guy Gerard Noël . It's no wonder Noël is considered one of the masters in horror poster art. As groundbreaking as their Universal predecessors, Hammer Studios was the first to bring Bram Stocker's devilish Count Dracula to the screen in living, blood-red color. Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee teamed back up under Terence Fisher's direction after Hammer's 1957 hit Curse of Frankenstein, and created what is arguably the best Dracula film that has been made in the past eighty years. Lee, as did Bela Lugosi almost three decades before, fashioned a vampiric horror icon for a whole new generation of international movie audiences. Always popular among collectors, this enthralling illustration of Lee has touchup applied to the folds with small chips, minor tears in the borders, and a crease in the upper left corner. Very Fine- on Linen.
