Description

The 39 Steps (International Film Renters, Late 1930s). British Quad (28" X 39").
This thriller was one of Alfred Hitchcock's earliest successes, and is considered by many fans to be a favorite today, developing many of the key plot elements that made the director's films so gripping. Robert Donat is the innocent man on the run who is hunted down through England and Scotland by the police and a ring of spies. He inadvertently enlists the aid of Madeleine Carroll in proving his innocence and discovering the meaning of the thirty-nine steps. Prior to restoration, there was a long tear at top center and in the left border, along with a few other border tears, fold wear with some paper loss in the folds, and crossfold separations with small chips out. This is a unique silk screen image of the stars. Fine on Linen.
