The 39 Steps (Gaumont, 1935). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Alfred Hitchcock had a "love affair" with espionage; the topic was a frequent subject of his films. In this classic from early in his career, Hitchcock delivered one of his most thrilling films as Robert Donat is forced into tracking down and exposing a ring of saboteurs. The left border has had 11" replaced and the right border has had 17" replaced, the rest of the border was still there. There is a small bit of paint on the replaced edges to match up the restoration. This gorgeous one sheet is now mounted on linen with the border loss beautifully restored. The linen has been trimmed to the edge of the poster. Slight cross fold wear and repair of corner pinholes. Fine- on Linen.
