Description

Spellbound (United Artists, 1945). Insert (14" X 36").
If you're an Ingrid Bergman fan, this is the poster for you, as it boasts four images of the lovely actress starring in one of Alfred Hitchcock's most spellbinding tales. Gregory Peck is the newly appointed (but too young) director of a ritzy mental asylum who proves to be incompetent in his role, raising the suspicion of one of the doctors on staff (Bergman). Although Bergman suspects Peck could be a highly disturbed amnesiac who murdered the real director, things are complicated by her romantic feelings toward him. Surrealist Salvador Dali lends his talents to the remarkable dream sequences in the film, adding just the right touch to a movie set in a mental institution. The imagery on this scarce insert format is a bit tamer than the one sheet (there's no Peck wielding a straight razor). There are small specks in the left border, small tears in the right border, a bottom right corner bend, wrinkling in the the borders, light horizontal creases, a scratch mid-background, and a heavy horizontal crease in the top and bottom sections. These imperfections do not detract from the overall high presentability of this fantastic Bergman-centric poster! Rolled, Fine/Very Fine.
