Rebecca (United Artists, 1940). Very Fine-. Lobby Card (11" X 14").The Academy Award winner for Best Picture of 1940, this exquisite movie boasts an impeccable cast, including Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine, George Sanders, Judith Anderson, Nigel Bruce, and Reginald Denny. In an atmospheric adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier's novel, it follows a dark and twisted tale of a man (Olivier) obsessed with the memory of his departed first wife, much to the dismay of his new, and somewhat naive, bride (Fontaine). Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, this was the famed director's first Hollywood movie, and the only one to take the Best Picture honor. Olivier and Fontaine are lovely on this rarely offered lobby card. The card has a repaired pinhole and small tear in the left border, with tape on the verso.
