Description

Rear Window (Paramount, 1954). One Sheet (27" X 40.5").
Tinged with the suspense one expects from master filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, this one sheet remains a top choice for movie poster collectors. Hitchcock cast one of his favorite leading men, James Stewart, in this tale of a photo-journalist who suspects he has witnessed a murder in the apartment building behind his. The scopophiliac Stewart clutches his binoculars, as his lovely girlfriend, played by Grace Kelly, stands just over his shoulder, swept up in the intrigue. At the time of its construction, the set for Rear Window was the largest indoor set ever created at Paramount, with running water and electricity to all of the apartments. Good color and great condition add to the appeal of this already desirable piece. Touchup to the folds, pinholes in the corners, tears in the top corners, and there are chips in the center and bottom crossfold. The borders have been airbrushed to smooth over these minor imperfections. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
