    Description

Psycho (Paramount, 1960). Very Fine- on Linen. Autographed Three Sheet (41" X 79").
Alfred Hitchcock's seminal psychological thriller Psycho was adapted by Joseph Stefano from Robert Bloch's novel of the same name. Bloch was partially inspired while writing Psycho by the true crime story of serial killer Ed Gein. However, news articles at the time revealed almost none of the grisly details that were releveled as time went on. Bloch's story of Norman Bates, his mother, and the doomed Marion Crane (Mary in the film) all came from Robert Bloch's mind, and it wasn't until later that the author realized how close to reality his creation was. This fantastic three sheet for the film adaptation of Psycho is signed by Robert Bloch, Pat Hitchcock (Alfred Hitchcock's daughter and Caroline in the film), and Janet Leigh (Marion Crane). The poster was printed in two panels, and it shows slight edge and fold wear, fold separations, tears, pinholes, and mild creases. There was a chip in the border of the lower panel, and all paper lift near the chip. The poster was professionally restored and displays brilliantly.
