    Murder! (Columbia, 1930). Window Card (14" X 22").
Co-written and directed by Alfred Hitchcock, this crime thriller was based on the novel and play Enter Sir John, and stars Herbert Marshall, Norah Baring, and Edward Chapman. It was the director's third all-talkie film, after Blackmail and Juno and the Paycock. A young actress in a traveling theatre troupe is accused of killing her cast mate, Edna Druce. Marshall is Sir John, a juror at the trial, who also happens to be an accomplished actor-manager. The intrigue mounts as the actress is sentenced to hang, and Sir John collaborates with a stage manager to exonerate Miss Baring. Hitchcock makes his traditional cameo in the film as a man walking past the murder victim's house. Posters from this picture are exceedingly hard to find, and the window card offered here is the first paper Heritage has offered from the film. Hitchcock completists should not miss the opportunity to acquire such a rare piece. There has been a minimal amount of touchup to the title area, as well as a tear in the bottom, left and right borders. The upper imprint area has been replaced, and a tear can still be detected in the bottom and right border. Fine+.
