Description
Lifeboat (20th Century Fox, 1944). Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27.25" X 41").With its stellar cast crowded onto a small lifeboat for the majority of the film, the success of 1944's Lifeboat is a testament to the talented actors and the sure-handed direction of Alfred Hitchcock. The film was rather controversial upon its release for its depiction of a German U-boat captain while World War II was still ongoing, and that caused Lifeboat to get a more limited release than what a Hitchcock film would have normally received. Regardless, the film has been praised for its direction and acting. This wonderful stone litho poster gives us a glimpse of most of the cast, including Tallulah Bankhead, William Bendix, Walter Slezak, Mary Anderson, Henry Hull, Heather Angel, John Hodiak, and more.
