    Description

Jamaica Inn (Scalera, 1940). Folded, Very Fine. Italian Foglio (27.25" X 39.25") Carlo Ludovico Bompiani Artwork.
Making its first appearance at Heritage is this striking Italian piece with a stone litho illustration by Carlo Ludovico Bompiani. The great character actor Charles Laughton starred in only two of Alfred Hitchcock's films--this mystery adventure, and later, The Paradine Case. Here he plays the treacherous Sir Humphrey Pengallan, leader of a gang of privateers who prey on ships that wreck along the English coast after they have blacked out the warning beacons. The film is based on Daphne du Maurier's novel (one of her three stories to get Hitchcock adaptations) and co-stars Maureen O'Hara and Leslie Banks. In nice shape with bright colors, the poster has edge wear, slight fold wear and separations, unobtrusive stains, faint dust shadows, and small tears and chips. There are a couple of strips of paper tape on the verso.
