Description

Jamaica Inn (Paramount, 1939). Fine/Very Fine. Lobby Card and Envelope (11" X 14").
Based Daphne Du Maurier's first novel, Alfred Hitchcock takes us on the journey of orphan Mary (Maureen O'Hara) as she goes to live with her nefarious aunt and uncle. As proprietors of the Jamaica Inn, the aunt (Marie Ney) and uncle (Leslie Banks) are involved with pirates that lure ships onto the rocky coastline for their spoils. This was Maureen O'Hara's first starring role, which would immediately be followed by another Charles Laughton film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The card shows light border stains, pinholes, soft creases, and light surface scuffs. The original distribution envelope for the Jamaica Inn lobby card set is also included. From the Wood Hall Collection.
