Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief by Edith Head (Paramount, 1955). Original Costume Sketches (3) (14" X 17", 11" X 15").
Group of two (2) marvelous original illustrations of Grace Kelly as Frances Stevens, accomplished in graphite, India ink and water color on artist's leaf, and signed by legendary Hollywood costume designer Edith Head, and one (1) unsigned sketch accomplished in India ink. The drawings feature wonderful images of Kelly in variations of the ensemble worn when she meets cat burglar John Robie (played by the suave Cary Grant) in the lobby of the Carlton Cannes Hotel, before she heads to the beach. Edith Head was nominated for an Academy Award for her fabulous costume designs on this film. The illustrations exhibit light edge wear, creased corners and some light smudges. One has a chipped corner and small edge split, and the monotone illustration has small loss of a portion of the top edge and damage to the perforations. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
