    Description

    Ben-Hur (MGM, 1925). Argentinean Poster (29" X 43") A. Wagener Artwork.
Ben-Hur was certainly one of the high points of the silent era, with an epic tale of the conflict between Rome and Christianity. At a cost of $4 million, it was easily the most expensive silent film ever made, directed by Fred Niblo and starring Ramon Novarro, Carmel Myers, May McAvoy, Betty Bronson, and Francis X. Bushman. Novarro, McAvoy and Bronson are beautifully rendered on this stone litho Argentinean one sheet with artwork by A. Wagener. Paper from this film is exceedingly hard to find, making this poster an excellent opportunity for collectors of the silent era. Signs of handling include creasing along the top horizontal fold, pinholes in the borders, two tears in the left border, light edge wear along the left and right, a stain at the bottom right and small stains in the bottom border. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
