    Description

His Picture in the Papers (S.A. Lynch, 1916). One Sheet (28" X 41").
Prior to becoming the public's favorite swashbuckling hero, Douglas Fairbanks rose to stardom in a series of romantic comedies under the direction of John Emerson and writer Anita Loos, the authoress of the famed novel Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. These comedies often made good use of Fairbanks' natural athleticism, this one in particular showcasing his physical endurance with car crashes, boxing matches, and beat downs against cops and train-robbing thugs alike. Triangle, the studio behind the film, had a deal with S.A. Lynch Enterprises that shared distribution rights for certain productions, where both companies would release advertisements concurrently, making this an original poster. Exceptional restoration has corrected tears in the interior and extensive paper loss along the left and right interior and borders extending into the image. Fair on Linen.

    Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
