    Description

    Hard Luck (Metro, 1921). Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Buster Keaton's influence on physical comedy is rivaled only by Charlie Chaplin. An acrobatically skillful and psychologically insightful actor, Keaton made dozens of short films and fourteen major silent features. Out of all the two-reelers Keaton made, he said that Hard Luck was his favorite. He claimed that the gutsy "high dive" stunt he performed in the film was the greatest thrill of his life. In this scene card, Keaton tries his luck as a horseman, failing to impress his love interest, Virginia Fox. Heritage has presented the title card and one other scene card from the film, making this new offering a terrific find for fans of the legendary Keaton. Touchup was applied to address a chipped top left corner, surface paper loss on the top and bottom border on the verso, a corner bend at the bottom right, a small dust shadow in the top right corner, one pinhole in the top left corner, and pinholes slightly into the background on the left side, and a small tear in the right border. Fine/Very Fine.
