Gun Crazy (United Artists, 1950). Folded, Very Fine+. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Peggy Cummins dominates this striking poster for Gun Crazy as femme fatale Annie Laurie Starr. In the film, Annie ensnares Bart (John Dall) in a life of crime after the newlyweds are fired from their jobs at a travelling carnival. Gun Crazy is regularly cited as one of the best film noirs, and its influence on crime films is unmistakable. The bold impact of this poster was also influential, with posters taking a cue from it over the following decade. The poster displays well with light edge and fold wear, slight creases, pinholes, and a few faint smudges and scuffs. There are tiny tears in the border, and a bit of subtle image ghosting can be seen in the border as well. There is an extra horizontal fold at the top of the image area. On the verso is some grease pencil writing which can be faintly seen from the front in and near the right border, and there are a few small pieces of paper tape on the verso at the top edge of the poster.

    Estimate: $3,000 - $6,000.
