DescriptionGodzilla (Trans World, 1956). One Sheet (27" X 41").
This giant monster film played on the world's atomic fears and started a craze for massive Japanese monsters that are still in high demand today. Directed by Ishiro Honda, with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya, the film was reworked for American audiences to include scenes with Raymond Burr. It's easy to see why this incredibly popular one sheet for the U.S. release is always in high demand, as the poster features a magnificent image of the towering Godzilla (Gojira in Japan) laying waist to everything in his path. A classic collectible, this poster shows light edge wear with minor tears, slight fold wear and separations, mild surface rippling, and staple holes, some of which are torn. There is a small hole in the lower right background. Folded, Very Fine-.
Estimate: $1,800 - $3,600.
