DescriptionGeorge --The Supreme Master of Magic (Otis Litho, Mid 1920s). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 40.75") Portrait Style.
A sensational portrait of magician Grover G. George (1887-1958) surrounded by curious creatures of the night fills this stone litho poster. George was born in Zainesville, Ohio, and developed a love for magic while watching Keller the Great and Howard Thurston at the old Schultz Opera House. By the 1920s, George was touring large, well respected theaters. With only light partial touchup applied, this poster shows slight edge wear, a couple of tears into the interior, creasing in the text, and a few dust shadows in the borders. The linen has been trimmed to the poster's edges but not into the poster itself. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
Estimate: $400 - $800.
