    Description

Funny Face (Paramount, 1957). Very Fine- on Linen. Italian 4 - Fogli (55.5" X 78") Ercole Brini Artwork.
Offered for the first time at Heritage, the brilliant artwork of Ercole Brini is on full display with this beautiful, large-format Italian poster, possibly one of the best posters for this Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire gem. Based on George and Ira Gershwin's hit 1927 Broadway musical, in which Astaire also starred, the film was a major success for Hepburn, who had risen to fame several years earlier with her Oscar-winning performance in Roman Holiday. As a child, Audrey Hepburn dreamed of becoming a ballet dancer and had taken lessons in her native Netherlands, and later England. When she realized she would not make it as a prima ballerina, she turned to acting, and the rest is history. Hepburn gets to showcase her dancing abilities to great effect in this fun romantic comedy, with her dream partner Fred Astaire, all set to a slew of timeless Gershwin tunes. Although backed on linen, no corrections have been made to minor paper lifts, faint smudges, a few stains at the top, and some tears. However, the poster displays very well and would be a fantastic addition to any collection.
