French Line: Ligne de Antilles (Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, 1950). Very Fine on Linen. French Travel Poster (25.5" X 39") Edouard Collin Artwork.
This is a circa 1950 French ocean liner travel poster by Edouard Collin. Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT) was commonly called "The French Line" abroad. Collin was commissioned to paint a number of travel posters for CGT. This image depicts the SS Colombie as it is being greeted by natives as it pulls into port. Although backed on linen, no touchup has been applied to this Heritage first. It shows such signs of handling as mild creasing, small tears, and some surface scuffs and scratches. Most of these issues are at the bottom of the poster.

    Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
