    Description

Tokyo Story (Shochiku Eiga, 1953). Japanese B2 (20.25" X 28.25"). Original Title: Tôkyô Monogatari.
Yasujiro Ozu directed this Japanese drama about an aging husband and wife who travel to Tokyo to visit their grown children. They meet with the harsh reality that their sons and daughters aren't willing to make time for them. Fortunately, the couple is met with warmth by their widowed daughter-in-law. Beautifully presented, this story is familiar the world over, and Ozu's treatment of the subject brought well deserved acclaim, some even calling Tokyo Story his masterpiece. This country-of-origin B2 is highly elusive, and Heritage is proud to present one for the first time. Portraits of the cast against a warm, soft pastel backdrop fill the poster, an unbelievable find for fans of Japanese cinema that won't appear at auction again anytime soon. Light signs of handling include fold and edge wear, a tear in the top left corner, a tear in the top border with cellophane tape on the verso, and a chip in the upper right corner. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
