DescriptionTokyo Story (Shochiku Eiga, 1953). Folded, Very Fine-. Japanese B2 (20" X 28.5") Original Title: Tôkyô Monogatari.
Yasujiro Ozu directed this Japanese drama about an aging husband and wife who travel to Tokyo to visit their grown children. They meet with the harsh reality that their sons and daughters aren't willing to make time for them. Fortunately, the couple is met with warmth by their widowed daughter-in-law. Beautifully presented, this story is familiar the world over, and Ozu's treatment of the subject brought well deserved acclaim, some even calling Tokyo Story his masterpiece. This country of origin poster has slight edge and fold wear, soft creases, minor tears and paper loss, and mostly unobtrusive stains. There is a strip of paper adhered to the verso at the bottom. Although originally folded, this poster will be shipped rolled.
Estimate: $2,500 - $5,000.
