The Seven Samurai (Kingsley International, 1958). Folded, Very Fine. One Sheet (27" X 41"). First U.S. Release Title: The Magnificent Seven.
Akira Korosawa's epic samurai masterpiece, The Seven Samurai, was originally released in Japan in 1954, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of the year. When the film came out in the United States, it was re-titled The Magnificent Seven for its initial limited release. The movie would later regain its title as The Seven Samurai, but this poster, offered at Heritage for only the second time, is from that original release when it still had the title The Magnificent Seven. The poster features Toshiro Mifune in his standout performance as Kikuchiyo along with a few scenes from Kuroawa's immortal classic. The poster has light edge and fold wear, minor creases, pinholes, tiny crossfold separations, and minute tears in the borders. There are also faint smudges, a few unobtrusive stains, and the poster has two extra vertical folds. Overall, the poster displays very well.

    Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
