Summer at Miho Peninsula (Nagoya Rail Agency, 1930s). Japanese Poster (23.5" X 34.5").
This beautiful image is a poster issued by Japan's national railway, in this instance Nagoya Rail Agency, during the early to mid 1930s. These posters were created for domestic use only to promote travel within Japan to various national parks, hot spring resorts and other notable destinations. Since none of these posters were distributed outside of Japan, they are quite scarce. When various Japanese museum poster curators (as well as the Ogaki Poster Museum) were supplied images, they replied that there were no examples of this genre in their collection. This lovely copy had some tears and border wear as well as crimping in the lower area from being rolled too tightly in its original state. Very Fine- on Linen
