Sanjuro (Toho, 1962). Very Fine- on Linen. Japanese B2 (20" X 29").
Directed by Japanese maestro Akira Kurosawa, this a samurai action classic is an unofficial sequel to Yojimbo (1961), again starring Toshiro Mifune as the titular crafty ronin. The story follows Sanjuro as he aids a naive group of young samurai in exposing corruption within their clan, using his cunning, skill, and unorthodox methods to outwit their enemies. The film combines sharp humor, stylish action choreography, and incisive social commentary, reflecting Kurosawa's ability to blend entertainment with critique. Influential on the samurai genre, the movie reinforced Mifune's status as one of cinema's most iconic action heroes. Backed to linen, the poster received touchup to a chip at the central lateral fold and horizontal creases in the upper half and lower right. There are some scuffs at upper left, a faint visible crease at middle right, and some foxing to the linen which does not affect the poster. Overall, this country-of-origin B2 presents well.
