    Description

Rasputin, Demon with Women (Tobis, 1932). German Poster (35" X 55").
Conrad Veidt portrays Russia's infamous "Mad Monk" with an emotive performance, balancing between the contradictory natures of the man as a healing mystic, an ambitious royal advisor, and a degenerate lecher. Based off of the writings of Ossip Dymow, who had met the actual Grigori Rasputin in Russia, this German film gives an accurate portrayal of the corrupted clergyman, rather than exaggerating what is already a sensational story. This stunning country of origin poster, the first we have ever offered for the film, has some edge wear with minor chips and small tears, and shows a slight few corner bends. There is a Weimar Republic censorship stamp in the lower right background. Rolled, Very Fine-.
