    Description

    Mam'zelle Pigalle (Titanus, 1956). Italian 4 - Fogli (55" X 78") Dante Manno Artwork.
A romantic comedy aspiring after after big Hollywood musical productions, this funny little picture starred Brigitte Bardot front and center as a care-free boarding school girl who makes trouble wherever she goes. Fans of Bardot flocked to the theaters to see the film, making it the twelfth most popular movie of the year in France. Not only that, but the story (which was written by Bardot's husband at the time) would later be remade into the Elvis flick Girl Happy in 1965. Featuring an alluring illustration of the starlet by Dante Manno, this Italian poster is a first-time offer at Heritage. Restoration has partially addressed fold wear and separation, pinholes, and chips in the folds. There were tears in the borders, interior, and folds, with tears and paper loss in Bardot's head. Unaddressed wear includes splices for paper loss in the borders, bleedthrough from writing on the verso, creases, and unobtrusive smudging. From the collection of John McBride. Very Good/Fine on Linen.
