Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf (Tobis-Melofilm, 1937). German Poster (31.5" X 39.5").
Fairytales can be found in nearly any corner of the globe, a fanciful part of countless cultures beloved by people all over the world...even the Nazis. Since the earliest days of the Third Reich, the National Socialist propaganda machine was up and running at full speed, utilizing any means available to keep the opinions of the public marching in lockstep with Hitler's brand of political dogma. Fritz Genschow's National Socialist retelling of Little Red Riding Hood is one of many contemporary children's films to push the Pro-Nazi agenda, especially when the heroic woodsman comes to rescue Little Red and her grandmother from the belly of the wolf--wearing a Nazi uniform complete with a Swastika and Imperial Eagle. This beautiful stone litho poster is, itself, a lovely rendering of the classic tale and a Heritage first. There is a nick in the upper and lower borders, and some small edge tears with tape on the verso. Rolled, Very Fine+.
