Description

Les Diaboliques (Cinedis, 1955). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. French Grande (47" X 63") Style B, Raymond Gid Artwork.
Based on the French novel She Who Was No More by Pierre Boileau and Thomas Narcejac, Les Diaboliques (released as Diabolique in English) is a tense psychological thriller from director Henri-Georges Clouzot. This stunning country-of-origin poster for the French film features mesmerizing artwork by Raymond Gid of an incident which serves as the focus of the film's mystery, the planned drowning of the cruel Michel Delassalle (Paul Meurisse). A style B French grande has only been offered at Heritage once before, making this a rare opportunity to own this beautiful piece of film history. The poster has edge and fold wear, fold separations, pinholes, small tears and chips, and noticeable toning in the folds. The poster is backed on linen and has touchup applied to some of the fold wear, but no further restoration has been attempted.
