    Description

La Strada (Paramount, 1954). Italian Banner (38.5" X 104") Enrico De Seta Artwork.
Drawing on his own circus background, filmmaker Federico Fellini created his much lauded La Strada in 1954. A rag-tag traveling carnival features Anthony Quinn as the loutish strongman Zampano, whose temper is readily unleashed on Giulietta Masina, his meek girlfriend. Richard Basehart stars as the clown/aerialist who would like to save her from a life of ill treatment, but she refuses to run away with him. This magnificent, original release, country-of-origin banner features artist Enrico De Seta's beautiful images of Quinn imposing his dominance, Masina smiling in clown face, and Basehart "jestering" astride a circus pony. Boasting fine Enrico De Seta artwork, touchup has been applied to the folds, pinholes in the borders and interior, and some mild tears and chips in the borders. There are a couple of post-restoration surface cuts in the top left corner, and some of the pinholes are still visible. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
