La Dolce Vita (Cineriz, 1960). Very Fine on Linen. Italian 2 - Fogli (39" X 55") Giorgio Olivetti Artwork.
Long considered a masterpiece of the cinema, this remains Federico Fellini's greatest film, winning the 1960 Cannes Film Festival's Palme d'Or. It was also nominated for three Oscars (including Best Director) but won for Best Costumes. The film is made up of several chapters or sequences instead of linear structure, and is tied together by the journalist Marcello (Marcello Mastroianni) and his journey for happiness through Rome as a moral wasteland. This ushered in a whole new way of filmmaking and made Fellini the star of European cinema. Original country of origin posters for this title are highly sought after. This beautiful poster with vibrant artwork by Italian artist Olivetti has benefited from excellent restoration. Touchups have been applied to the folds, very minor fold separation within the top and bottom borders, and a couple of pinholes. Airbrushing has been applied to parts of the borders.
