Description

La Dolce Vita (Cineriz, 1959). Italian 4 - Foglio (55" X 78") Style B.
The dizzying chases and dreamlike meanderings through the Via Veneto in Rome have become some of the most iconic images in all of cinema. Federico Fellini's masterpiece is a groundbreaking allegory of life itself, showcasing, in a visually striking manner, the randomness of love, tragedy, fame, and lust. A true artist, Fellini filmed this picture at the dawning of the 1960s, ushering in the style, freedom, and experimentation that defined the decade. Marcello Mastroianni stars as a jaded reporter who is entranced by movie star Anita Ekberg and struggles to find meaning in his life. Paper for this title is highly prized, and this very rare country-of-origin style B, 4-foglio is perhaps the hardest piece to come by. The gorgeous artwork captures the sophisticated and decadent scene to perfection, with wonderful renderings of the cast. The poster has been professionally restored to address edge wear with small tears, some fold wear, a chip in the top left corner, one in the center of the top border, and one at the bottom edge. The linen has been trimmed to the edge of the poster. None of these issues detract from the impact of this very special gem of a poster. Very Fine- on Linen.
