I Vitelloni by Giuliano Nistri (ENIC, 1953). Near Mint-. Signed Original Mixed Media Concept Artwork on Paper (Approx. 8" X 11.5").
Directed and co-written by renowned filmmaker Federico Fellini, I Vitelloni is an Italian comedy-drama that proved to be a pivotal movie in the director's early career. The film won the Silver Lion at the 1953 Venice Film Festival, and it helped secure Fellini's first international distributors. Italian posters for the film are rare, and even more rare is this original concept artwork created for the film by Giuliano Nistri. The illustration was created by Nistri using ink and paint over pencil, and a finalized version of the image using this same basic design can be seen on some of the Italian posters for the film. The artwork, offered here for the first time at Heritage, shows normal wear consistent with the production of the piece. There are also a couple of pinholes in the upper border. The piece is signed in pen in the bottom border by Nistri.
