Erblich Belastet (Eiko Film, 1913). Folded, Very Fine-. German Poster (59" X 85.5").
Offered here for the first time at Heritage is a German two-panel poster for the silent film Erblich Belastet, which translates from German to Hereditary Burden. The film is one of the first writing and directing efforts by prolific German filmmaker Harry Piel, created when he was in his early twenties. Piel, an actor as well, would go on to direct over 100 films before withdrawing from the film industry in the 1950s. This intriguing country-of-origin stone litho poster gives us a glimpse of the drama contained within Erblich Belastet which tells a tale of a man who carries the stigma of being the son of a convicted murderer. The poster displays minor edge and fold wear, light creases, pinholes, and a few small chips and fold separations. There is a moderate tear in the lower panel that extends from the left border slightly into the image area, and there are some minor stains and smudges in the borders and parts of the image area. The poster also has some very light toning.

    Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
