    Description

    Battleship Potemkin (Magna, R-1960). Italian 4 - Fogli (55" X 77.5") Averardo Ciriello Artwork.
Russian director Sergei Eisenstein's brilliant masterpiece explores the historic mutiny aboard the battleship Potemkin, brought on by harsh living conditions and extreme cruelty at the hands of its heartless Naval officers. The centerpiece of the film, in which the Czar's Cossacks march down the Odessa steps, remains as powerful today as it was when the picture was originally released. This rare Italian poster is the first Heritage has ever offered, and features expressive artwork by Averardo Ciriello. Touchup has been applied to the folds with chips and tears, and in a diagonal crease through the upper image area. There are some unaddressed stains in the upper right border, and there is a snipe over the distributor information in the lower right corner. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
