Agitplakat Soviet Poster Lot (c.1950s). Rolled, Fine/Very Fine. Belarusian Propaganda Posters (3) (23.5" X 31.5").
Featuring three Belarusian posters that may have a connection to the Agitplakat movement in Soviet Union Russia, but unlike its satirical nature of Agiplakat was known for, these Belarusian posters were more propaganda in subject matter. The first poster in this lot proclaims, "Let us live, work, laugh and keep the world under the sun. in our creative work there is a powerful defender!" with an image of a Soviet soldier looking upon workers. The second is an anti-NATO poster with a representation of Great Britain helping up Germany to gain the atomic bomb. The third poster in this lot is an anti-German poster that cautions the ulterior motives of Christianity and the carving of Europe, especially Russia as "Revenge" is cited on the cartoonish scissors the German figure is attempting to use to cut the map. All posters in this lot show some edge wear, creases, tears, and may show very minor toning. There is paper and archival tape on the verso. The anti-NATO poster has horizontal creases from being partially flattened when rolled.
