    Accattone (Arco Film, 1961). Italian 2 - Fogli (39.5" X 55") Sandro Symeoni Artwork.
This wonderful country-of-origin poster is a first time offer from Heritage. Accatone means "beggar," but the implication was deeper. In Roman slang, it is used for a hustler who is always doing small-time grifts, and is held in low esteem even by other criminals. Vittorio "Accatone" Cataldi (Franco Citti) is one of those hustlers, a pimp who has lost his one girl to prison. He considers going straight, but that would involve work. When he meets a somewhat naive girl new to Rome from the country, he thinks his problems are solved. Pier Paolo Pasolini directs his first film, adapted from his own best-selling novel. This was also the first film that Bernardo Bertolucci worked on, as an assistant director. Light touchup has been applied to the folds, a minor tear in the left border, and a few pinholes in the borders. Artwork by Sandro Symeoni. Very Fine+ on Linen.
